My Approach

Sleep is one of the most fundamental aspects of our well-being. It impacts not only how we feel physically and mentally but also how we function as a family, as partners, and as individuals. As a Gentle Sleep Coach, my goal is to help families restore balance so that they don’t just get through the day—but truly thrive.

The Gentle Sleep Coach® philosophy was created by Kim West, LCSW-C (also known as The Sleep Lady®) after realizing that many parents struggled to stick with sleep coaching programs because they feared it might emotionally harm their child or make them feel so guilty that they couldn’t continue. The Gentle Sleep Coach® method offers a gentle, gradual approach to sleep coaching. This method respects both the child’s and parents’ needs, aiming for a sustainable and loving sleep solution.

Every child is different, and every family has its own parenting philosophy, values, and challenges. That’s why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I will work with you to create a personalized, step-by-step sleep plan that considers your child’s temperament, age, health, your own well-being and all the unique family dynamics. Most importantly, I will guide and support you throughout the entire process—from bedtime to night wakings and naps—so you never feel alone in the journey.

I see myself as your coach, but ultimately, you are the one guiding your child through this process. Just like you support your little one in learning to walk or talk, sleep is also a skill that takes time to develop. My goal is to give you the knowledge and tools to confidently help your child become an independent sleeper—always in a way that feels right for you and your family.

A question I often hear is: Can you guarantee no crying?

The short answer is no—no one truly can. If a baby has always been rocked, nursed, or held to sleep and we start making changes, it’s natural for them to protest. They don’t understand why things are different. If they are pre-verbal, crying is often their way of expressing this frustration. However, my approach is designed to minimize tears as much as possible. Parents remain present, offering verbal and physical reassurance without putting their child to sleep. This allows the child to develop the vital life skill of falling asleep independently while maintaining a secure attachment with their parents.

Above all, I want you to feel heard, understood, and supported. There’s no judgment, no shame, and no strict “rules” here. This is a safe space where you can be honest about your struggles, and together, we’ll find an approach that feels right for your family. My coaching isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about creating lasting, sustainable changes so you can feel well-rested and confident.

If you’re ready to take back your nights and feel empowered in your parenting journey, I’d love to support you!
